Dear Parents:
Once again this year, the Westlake Safety Town Program will be offered to children entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2008. The Safety Town Program is a series of planned, controlled situations where a child is kept safe but still encounters common traffic problems. A variety of other safety-related topics are also covered.
This year’s Safety Town schedule is as follows:
Session One – June 9th – June 20th
Class Times: 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Session Two – June 23rd - July 3rd (No class on July 4th)
Class Times: 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Session Three – July 7th – July 18th
Class Times: 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Registration for Safety Town for Westlake Residents only will take place on Saturday, May 10th, 2008 at the Westlake Recreation Center Community Room from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The fees are $10.00 for Westlake residents and $15.00 non-residents due with the registration form. There will be no registrations accepted prior to that date. After May 10th, registrations will be accepted at the Police station or by mail on a first come, first served basis. Please mail or drop off your check (made payable to The City of Westlake) and completed registration to: CSO Anna Cavender, Westlake Police Department, 27300 Hilliard Blvd., Westlake, OH 44145. Applications are available at the Westlake Recreation Center, the School Board, or the Police Station. Any registrations received by mail prior to Saturday, May 10th will be held until after in-person registration is complete. Deadline for all registrations will be Friday June 6th, 2008.
Once again this year, we will be offering a one day “Saturday Safety Camp” designed specifically to accommodate parents who cannot get their children to our regularly scheduled classes. This year’s Saturday Camp will be held on June 21st, 2008 from 9:00 am to 3:00pm. Class size is strictly limited for this program and the class will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
